Middle school students will no longer be receiving missing assignment sheets every week. All of the same information is available through Skyward Family Access, so now that we've had a year to practice, we are going to eliminate the middle man. This will help the partnership between teachers, students, and parents be even stronger. The teachers will take responsibility to make sure that gradebooks are updated weekly. Parents and students are asked to take responsibility to check it weekly, to stay on top of projects, tests, and any missing assignments.
There are also a couple dress code updates. MS students are still required to wear the same solid color polo shirts and the same color pants (no pajama pants, sweatpants, athletic pants, etc.) However, MS students ARE allowed to have their shirts untucked now and will NOT have to wear belts. Too much time was being spent last year with dress code, revolving around these issues, so we would like to get back to spending more time on academics and character. *However, if at any time shirts are not of the appropriate length or fit or pants cannot stay up on the waist on their own, students will be asked to go back to the original dress code.
Also there will be NO more tank tops. If students would like to wear another shirt underneath their polo shirts, it needs to be a crew neck T-shirt in dress code colors. If a crew neck T-shirt is not worn underneath, then polo shirts must be buttoned up to the second button from the top. The point of wearing polo shirts in the first place is so that students remain covered.
